Eta Psi's
CORE VALUES
Scholarship
Scholarship is our highest aim. The Eta Psi chapter provides a supportive environment where sisters celebrate one another's achievements and share resources to help everyone thrive. As a national sorority, the Theta Foundation gives our sisters access to various scholarships that support their academic pursuits.
Personal Excellence
At Eta Psi, personal excellence is about growth, resilience, and staying true to yourself. We empower one another to pursue our goals, embrace challenges, and celebrate individuality. This is reflected in everything we do — from hosting study sessions and alumni networking nights to attending entrepreneur pitch events.
Service
For many of our sisters, service is a way of life. As Thetas, we embrace the opportunity to give back, not out of obligation, but out of a genuine desire to make a difference. Since our founding, Eta Psi has proudly supported CASA, and our sisters take great pride in their active involvement in both local and wider community initiatives.
Friendship
Through shared experiences, laughter, and unwavering support, our sisters build bonds that unite us across the country and around the world. Theta is truly our home away from home. Our sisterhood brings together women from diverse backgrounds, and values like trust, loyalty, and empathy are at the heart of these friendships. Becoming a Theta means joining a supportive community where your authenticity is celebrated.
Leadership
Whether serving as chapter officers or holding a leadership position in clubs, our sisters are driven, ambitious, and committed to inspiring others.
A LETTER FROM OUR PRESIDENT

Dear Reader,
My name is Georgia Richards, and I am the President of the Eta Psi chapter of Kappa Alpha Theta at Tufts University! I am incredibly honored to have been elected to this position and grateful to work alongside such an amazing Executive Board.
When I first committed to Tufts, I was unsure if I wanted to participate in Greek life. Although my great-grandparents and my father were involved in Greek life at Tufts, I wasn’t sure if it was for me. However, by the spring semester of my freshman year, I was incredibly excited for sorority recruitment. I felt that something was missing from my college experience: the lifelong friendships and connections that only a national sisterhood can provide. I was incredibly honored when I received a bid to Kappa Alpha Theta and to become part of the first Greek-letter fraternity known among women.
Now, looking back on my year and a half in Theta, I can confidently say that Theta has given me everything I wanted and more. Theta has made Tufts truly feel like home, and I am grateful for the opportunity to lead a community that means so much to me. Kappa Alpha Theta’s mission is to nurture each member throughout her lifetime by offering opportunities for intellectual and personal growth. In everything our chapter does, we are guided by our four values.
Scholarship:
The diversity of majors in Theta is unmatched and has given me the opportunity to meet so many wonderful women, many of whom I would never have met through my classes or other extracurriculars. I am constantly impressed by the work our members do and how hard they work. Twenty-five percent of our members achieve a 4.0 GPA each semester, and because scholarship is our highest aim, we honor their efforts with a scholarship pearl. Through Theta’s alumnae network and our chapter’s professional development initiatives, members are also able to connect with women across industries for mentorship, internships, and career guidance.
Service:
A commitment to service is crucial to the Eta Psi chapter. In 2025, we raised over $3,000 for our national philanthropy partner, Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA). CASA provides court-appointed volunteer advocacy for children and youth who have experienced abuse or neglect.
We also support the Kappa Alpha Theta Foundation, which provides funding opportunities for Theta members and helps ensure all members can reach their fullest potential. To raise money for these two organizations, we host two large philanthropy events each year. For the past few years, we have presented Concert for CASA, featuring a wide range of performing groups. This year, we are changing course and hosting Pups and Pops, a ticketed opportunity for students to de-stress with PopUp Bagels and therapy dogs. We are also proud to support Tufts community events such as the LCS Day of Service and Read by the River. Independently, our members are involved in a wide range of service activities, including Letters Against Isolation, Tufts Pen Pals, Tufts Project Linus, Animal Aid, Girls Inc., and more.
Leadership/Personal Excellence:
The Eta Psi chapter develops leaders across the Tufts campus. It is inspiring to see the wide range of organizations in which Thetas hold leadership positions, including Tufts Mock Trial, Tufts Financial Group, Tufts Women in Computer Science, Tufts Women in Tech, Tufts Women in Product, Tufts Product Studio, Engineers Without Borders, Tufts Undergraduate Law Review, Tufts Observer, Women in Cybersecurity, Tufts Women in International Relations, IDEA Lab, Tech & Business of Healthcare at Tufts, Tufts Human Factors and Ergonomics Society, Tufts Biomedical Engineering Society, Melisma Journal of Music, Tufts Tap, Asian American Center, Brazilian Student Association, Mexican Culture Club, Central Asian Student Association, Athletes of Color Club, Girl Gains Club, Tufts University Social Collective, Tufts Taekwondo Club, Tufts Food Rescue, Tufts Book Club, and Hemispheres. Within our chapter, we currently operate with a 17-officer leadership structure, along with committee opportunities that allow members to participate at varying levels of commitment. We strive to ensure that every Theta has the opportunity to lead.
Sisterhood:
Theta has given me the sisters I never had. It has given me the girls I sit next to in class, the girls I live with, and the girls I can always count on. Some of my favorite memories are the little moments: getting ready together before formals, celebrating each other’s accomplishments, and having a built-in support system during both the best and most stressful parts of college. I have found lifelong friends in Theta, and I know these are friendships I will cherish forever. Like I said at the start of this letter, I could go on and on for ages about why joining Kappa Alpha Theta has changed my life for the better. I have learned, changed, and grown, all while surrounded by girls my age who share my ambition and drive. Through them, I have learned so much about myself as a person and created friendships that will last far beyond my final days at Tufts. I am truly grateful for everything this community has brought me, and welcome my future memories and growth through this sisterhood with open arms.
Theta Love and Mine,
Georgia Richards
Chapter President
